Important notice from Johnson & Johnson

Dear Acuvue Contact Lens wearer

We received the notification below from Johnson & Johnson Vision Care.

jnotice

According to the letter, Johnson &Johnson will no longer be supplying any Acuvue contact lenses to South Africa – this means that from the end of February we will no longer be able to order any of the Acuvue® MoistAcuvue® OasysAcuvue® Advance or Acuvue®2 contact lenses. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are all shocked at this decision.

We will therefore have to convert you, our current Acuvue® patient to different contact lens systems as and when your contact lenses need to be ordered. You, however, have the opportunity to order your current lenses up to the 22nd February. We have stipulated this cut-off date so as to ensure delivery of your lenses before the final shipment date.  Please contact us urgently if you wish to do so. We will then process your order within the allowed time. All lenses currently in stock or any patient orders not collected / paid for by the 23rd February will be returned for credit. Should you need us to keep your contact lenses for collection beyond the 23rd February, we will require you to pay for them or ensure that your medical aid will pay for them. We unfortunately cannot bear the cost implication of non-returnable stock. We trust you understand our decision

We have investigated various options to get the Acuvue products via another supplier but unfortunately at this stage any arrangement will not be viable. If anything changes we will let you know. In the meantime we are anticipating the inevitable non-availability of the lenses and will change you to other products from other suppliers.

Please be assured that we will endeavour to give you a suitable, healthy replacement contact lens.   Should you have any concerns, please contact your Classic Eyes Optometrist.

Kind regards

The Classic Eyes Team
